FELTROSA 2010 a 360° communication project.
The exhibit “The Climate is Changing” will open on the 7th of May 2010 and will be in Prato, in Tuscany, untill the 7th of July it will then start its itinerary all across Europe, in Germany and the UK, making it a memorable event on display for at least 2 years.
The communication design started in 2009 by organizing a meeting with the various representatives involved in the exhibit, Eva Basile, curator of the event, Filippo Guarini, director of the Museo del Tessuto di Prato and the staff.
The idea dates back to the year 2008 when the agreements were verbally set so that the FELTROSA 2010 event would have taken place in Italy and would have had a planetarian resonance, due to the collaboration of the three major organizations of artist felt makers: Coordinamento Tessitori in Italy, Filz-Netzwerk e.V. In Germany and The International Feltmakers Association, also known as IFA, based in the UK.
It was a common goal to host the upcoming event in a meaningful location and what better than the Textile Museum in Prato? The area was one of the major textile districts in Italy, the economy has shrunk the number of factories, preserving those that were able to innovate and create new niches of business for a clientele that is looking for higher standards of quality.
My role was to assist Eva in the making of all the informational material and the catalogue in first instance, evaluating the estimate of various publishers, the offer of different paper makers, opting for the one that had a better customer service and variety of products, Fedrigoni and shaping the product all up via the text and the inputs that we received after the selection of the masterpieces, 50 out of 180 that were sent.
So here we are, with the exhibit almost ready to open to the public and a lot to do in front of us as well as a lot of task that we have succesfully accomplished.
