“Nam divitiarum et formae gloria fluxa atque fragilis est, virtus clara aeternaque habetur” – Sallustio, De Catilinae coniuratione
The fame that goes with wealth and beauty is fleeting and fragile; intellectual superiority is a possession glorious and eternal.

Pitti 2014 and the global lifestyle fashion.
But what is man fashion today? Well as we have seen in the US this fall, there is a lot of nostalgia for different eras that, from a distance, seem to be golden eras.
So now we have an updated revival version of many different styles and the motto “Rock me Pitti” really made the point clear.
Whenever you look at what Rock’n’Roll means you realize that this Pitti 2014 had the best interpretation we could think of.
There is no recipe for Rock’n’Roll, therefore you cook it the way that best fits you. Your rock’n’roll mix has to speak the language of freedom.
It may sound like Bruce Springsteen or Coldplay, it may be Radiohead or Beirut, it doesn’t matter, they all fall under the same all-inclusive set.
The pictures below will show you many different interpretatoin of Pitti 2014 “Rock Me Pitti”.
One of the trends that has really caught my attention is the idea of innovation looking at the past and everyone does it the way they can. Long time established brands obviously delve into their archives to revamp old classics, Levi’s, DrMartens.
Little but clever start ups look at the tradition of specific territories to root their production into and historical frame, so you find Sammy Ethiopia that follows the whole production from the cotton fields, to the spinning and weaving in his homecountry Ethiopia or IOWEYOU, an interesting project where the garment carries the informations of all the people that made that specific piece of clothing possible, from Madras to the original Harris Tweed, from the cotton field to the sheep.
